The Richard & Lucille Harrison Scholarship recognizes the values of this Woodland family in supporting students who have aspirations, are willing to work hard, and want to better their lives through education and training. Richard Harrison is a lifelong resident of Woodland. Lucille came to Woodland from Sacramento, and together, they raised a family and started Richard’s electrical contracting business.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Must be a high school senior attending a high school in the Woodland Joint Unified School District
  • Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale ( GPA not applicable for students planning to attend a vocational school)
  • Plan to attend a two-year community college, four-year college/university or Vocational or trade school in the upcoming academic year.
  • Demonstrate financial need – need is based on the Student Aid Index (SAI) scores from the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or The California Dream Act Application
  • Preference will go to students who have not received other large scholarships or financial aid
  • Full-time enrollment/12 units or more or the equivalent required
Students will also be evaluated on their willingness to work hard (e.g., passion and drive) based on the essay, reference letter and extra curricular activities.
 
Scholarship award may be used for the cost of attendance at your school (includes tuition, fees, books, educational expenses, supplies, and housing) as well as living and travel expenses (funds used for this purpose may be taxable)
 
Award: Up to $10,000
